You know those photographers who make everything look stiff and overly shiny? Yeah, I'm not one of them.
Originally hailing from York and cutting my teeth in the dancefloor chaos of Leeds’ hip-hop scene - shooting hype gigs for Club Fresh Jive living the 'each one, teach one' ethos with York Breakdance I've always been about real moments, raw energy, and proper community. Those high-energy years taught me to find the shot, not the pose: MC's mid-battle or breakers frozen in the air with crowds creating chaos at the front of the cypher.
Fast forward to now, and I've brought that same unfiltered vibe to weddings, portraits and any other gig you want me to shoot! No stiff lace and champagne clichés here - just people laughing like mates, first kisses with dope energy, and the occasional "sod the rain, let’s dance" madness. It’s still Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun at its core; ask my Gravity Control b-boy crew, it's just with confetti now.
Off-duty? I'm still arguing over old-school hip-hop and editing photos to a 90s classics playlist. Check my Instagram stories. One minute it’s a bride dancing in the wind, the next it’s a throwback to some 2005 breaking battle that proper shaped me.
Bottom line is whether it’s a stage dive or a first dance, I'm about capturing those truly live moments. No faking, no fluff. Just heart, hustle, and a bit of Northern humour thrown in.
